South Border Finish Their Europe Tour At Greenwich Borough Hall On Sunday

South Border live in London

South Border are one of those bands that half the Filipino families in London will have grown up with, because Kahit Kailan came out in 1996 and has been played at more weddings and karaoke nights than anyone could count. The band’s Europe tour ends this weekend, with Glasgow on 15 October, Dublin on 17 October and the last night in London on Sunday 18 October, at Greenwich Borough Hall.

  • Date: Sunday 18 October 2026.
  • VIP access: from 4:30pm.
  • Doors: 5pm, with the night running to about 9pm.
  • Venue: Greenwich Borough Hall, 89 Royal Hill, London SE10 8SE.
  • Nearest station: Greenwich, on the DLR and Southeastern mainline trains.
  • Parking: public pay parking nearby.

Who South Border Are, For Anyone Who Missed Them Growing Up

South Border started in 1993 between Davao City and Manila, and they play a soft pop and R&B sound with some jazz and soul in it, the sort of music that sounds like a late night drive. Jay Durias is the one name that has been there the whole time. He plays keyboards, sings lead and writes the songs, and he is the only original member still in the band.

The band has had well known singers come and go over the years. Brix Ferraris sang lead in the early days, and Luke Mejares took over from 1998 until he went solo in 2002. These are the songs people will be waiting for on Sunday:

SongYearWhy people know it
Kahit Kailan1996Their first big hit, and an award winner at the 1997 Awit Awards
Habang Atin Ang Gabi2001The theme from the TV drama La Vida Rosa
Rainbow2003Used for Sharon Cuneta’s film Crying Ladies
Usahay2005 awardTheir cover of the Pilita Corrales classic, which won Best Regional Recording

Rainbow and Kahit Kailan are the 2 most of the hall will know every word of.

Greenwich Borough Hall, And Getting There On A Sunday

Royal Hill is a short walk up from Greenwich station, and the Borough Hall is the old art deco town hall building with the clock tower, so it is easy to spot once you come out of the station. Sunday service on the DLR and Southeastern is usually fine, but check for engineering works before you set off, because Greenwich lines do close for them now and then.

Driving is possible, and the poster mentions public pay parking nearby, though Greenwich on a Sunday afternoon can be busy with market and park traffic, so the train is probably the easier way in.

The Sponsors Say A Lot About Who The Night Is For

CMQ Events and QA with CQ are putting the show on, and it is co-presented by Remitly and Sendwave, which are both apps people use to send money home. That tells you the night is aimed squarely at the Filipino community here, the nurses, carers and families who send part of every pay packet back to the Philippines, and for a lot of them this will be a rare chance to hear a band from home without flying home.

The poster gives an email for sponsorship enquiries, filcomeventuk@gmail.com. Ticket prices and how many VIP places are left are not shown on the poster or the Facebook event, so check the CMQ Events Facebook page for the ticket link before Sunday, and get there for 5pm if you want a good spot.
