Hue And Cry Bring Their Full Band And Roachford To Edinburgh’s Usher Hall On Saturday 24 October

Hue And Cry

Labour of Love came out on cassette in 1987, and this weekend Pat and Greg Kane play it with a full band in Edinburgh. Hue and Cry come to the Usher Hall on Saturday with Roachford as their special guest, and the night starts at 7pm on Saturday 24 October, with tickets from £32.50 to £44.50.

  • Date: Saturday 24 October 2026.
  • Start: 7pm.
  • Venue: Usher Hall, Lothian Road, Edinburgh EH1 2EA.
  • Special guest: Roachford.
  • Tickets: £32.50 to £44.50, from Ticketmaster, hueandcry.co.uk and the Usher Hall box office.
  • Extras: VIP packages are on sale for every date of the Scottish run.

The Facebook event can look confusing at first glance. Its text is a thank-you post from the Gateshead show, and the sale dates at the bottom say October 2025. Those dates are when tickets first went on sale a year ago. Saturday’s show is on, and tickets are still sold through the usual outlets.

Gateshead Gave A Good Idea Of How The Night Runs

The tour played the Glasshouse in Gateshead on Saturday 17 October, and the band shared the running order for that night:

  • Doors at 7pm.
  • Roachford on at 7:40pm.
  • Hue and Cry on at 8:45pm.

Edinburgh has its own timings, so check your ticket, but the Gateshead order suggests Roachford will play for about an hour before Hue and Cry come on. The photo from that show has 8 musicians on stage, with keyboards, guitars, drums and 2 horn players behind Pat at the front.

The Kane Brothers Have Done This For Over 40 Years

Pat and Greg Kane started Hue and Cry in Coatbridge in 1984. Their first album, Seduced and Abandoned, came out in 1987 with Labour of Love as their first Top 10 single. Looking for Linda and Violently followed on the next album, Remote. They went on to make Stars Crash Down, Showtime and Jazz Not Jazz, and they have sold over 2 million records.

Pat says playing live with the full band is “always the most exciting thing”, and he has promised the hits and fan favourites a full, widescreen treatment. Greg pointed out that this tour comes after their 40th anniversary run, in bigger venues.

Roachford Had His Own Hit The Year After Labour Of Love

Andrew Roachford reached number 4 with Cuddly Toy in 1988. He has made 10 studio albums since and written songs for Michael Jackson, Joss Stone and Chaka Khan. He has also sung with Mike + the Mechanics for about 10 years, so plenty of people in the hall will know his voice from their shows, singing The Living Years.

Edinburgh Is The Third Of 5 Scottish Nights

The Scottish leg runs over 2 weekends, with a change of support act halfway through:

  • Thursday 22 October, Inverness, Eden Court, with Roachford.
  • Friday 23 October, Aberdeen, Music Hall, with Roachford.
  • Saturday 24 October, Edinburgh, Usher Hall, with Roachford.
  • Friday 30 October, Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall, with Johnny Hates Jazz.
  • Saturday 31 October, Perth, Concert Hall, with Johnny Hates Jazz.

Edinburgh is the last Scottish chance to see Hue and Cry and Roachford on the same bill. Fans of Shattered Dreams will want the Glasgow or Perth date instead.
