London Pride 2026 Had a Dress Code After All, You Just Had to Squint to See It

British Vogue sent photographer Elliott Morgan out into the crowds for London Pride 2026, and the resulting street style gallery is a proper document of the day, because Pride is the one event on the fashion calendar where the brief is simply be yourself, loudly, and thirty thousand people all interpret it differently at once.

Morgan’s route tells you how the day is structured now. He started at the Queer Was Always Here takeover of Boys, Boys, Boys, where Sebastian Croft and Connor Jessup were running a pop-up for their T-shirts designed with Geordie Campbell, one of the more thoughtful brand moments of this year’s Pride season alongside Erdem teaming up with the Gay’s the Word bookshop and JW Anderson putting on an exhibition of vintage Physique Pictorial erotica. That is the polished, fashion-week end of Pride. Then he walked through Soho Square towards Piccadilly, and that is where the real show was happening.

And the crowd sorted itself into tribes the way it does every year, which is half the joy of looking at these photos. The very young ones in tiny thrifted polos working out who they are in real time. Drag queens cinched into corsetry that must have taken three people to get into. Lesbians in cargo shorts and Timberlands, an outfit that has not changed in twenty years because it has never needed to. Full tutus with kitten heels doing early 2000s Manhattan on a London pavement. And everywhere, the eternal uniform, white vest, bermuda shorts, done. Layered over the lot of it, enough rainbow flags, capes, fans, socks and temporary tattoos that the whole route was probably visible from orbit.

That is what the gallery captures better than any parade coverage does. The floats are the event, but the crowd is the culture, and in 2026 the crowd dressed like it knew exactly who it was.
