The Alter Eagles Play 2 Hours Of Eagles Songs At The Hampton Hub Club On Friday
Most people know at least 5 Eagles songs without ever having bought an Eagles record, because Hotel California and Take It Easy have been on the radio, in the car and at every wedding disco since the 70s. The Alter Eagles have been playing those songs for over 20 years now, and on Friday they bring their 2 hour show to the Hampton Hub Club, so it is Friday 23 October, doors at 7pm, the band on at 8:30pm, and £15 if you book ahead.
- Date: Friday 23 October 2026.
- Doors: 7pm.
- Show: 8:30pm, and the band plays for about 2 hours.
- Venue: Hampton Hub Club, 3 Ashley Road, Hampton TW12 2JA.
- Box office: text or call 07770 636303 to reserve a place.
Booking Now Saves You £4
The pricing is simple, but it is the first thing to sort:
- Advance ticket on Fixr: £15
- On the door on the night: £19
- Saving by booking: £4 a head
For a couple that is £8, which is a drink each at the bar before Hotel California comes on. You can also text or ring the box office number and they will hold a space for you, which is handy if you would rather not book online.
Over 20 Years On The Road As The Eagles
Back in 2003 the band got together, and they played their first gig in January 2004. Since then they have headlined theatres all over the country. The Pavilion in Broadstairs, the Capitol in Horsham and the Komedia are a few of the rooms they have played, and Broadstairs is where they go next, on 31 October.
Their website has a page of press quotes, and they give you a fair idea of what people come away saying. The Brighton Evening Argus wrote “pitch-perfect harmonies”, the East Anglian Daily Times called them “a joy to watch”, and the Windsor Observer said they were “one of the best tribute bands I can remember seeing”. Harmonies are the hard part with the Eagles. Four or 5 voices stacked on top of each other is the sound of Take It Easy and Seven Bridges Road on record, and a tribute band that cannot do that gets found out in the first song.
This is who is on stage on Friday, going by the Hampton listing:
| Member | What they play |
|---|---|
| Steve McCormack | Vocals, guitars |
| Alan Tomkins | Keyboards, guitars, vocals |
| Rob Beattie | Bass, acoustic guitar, vocals |
| Mike Bradley | Guitars, vocals |
| Ollie Green | Drums, percussion |
The band’s own website lists Ed Chisholm on drums, so Ollie Green looks to be the drummer for this date.
The Songs You Can Expect To Hear
Hotel California came out in 1976 and is still the one everybody waits for, but the set goes well past the big 3. The Hampton listing names these:
- Hotel California
- Take It Easy
- One Of These Nights
- Take It To The Limit
- Desperado
- Lyin’ Eyes
- Life In The Fast Lane
On top of those, there are Don Henley and Joe Walsh solo songs and some rarer ones, and the set runs right up to Long Road Out Of Eden from 2007, which was the last Eagles studio album. Glenn Frey died in 2016, and a lot of the old songs are his, so a night like this is about the closest most people in Hampton will get to hearing that catalogue played live in a club.
Getting To Ashley Road On A Friday Night

Hampton station, on the South Western Railway line from London Waterloo, is close to Ashley Road, so the train is an easy way in from Kingston or central London. With doors at 7 and the band not on until 8:30, there is an hour and a half to get a drink and a good spot, and with a 2 hour set, plan on getting out around 10:30pm or a little after.
The Hampton Hub Club signs off the listing with “Going to be a cracker”, and with £15 tickets and a band that has done this for 20 years, they might be right. Which Eagles song would you want them to open with?
