Halloween Family Party At Harborne Village Social Club, Birmingham, On Saturday 31 October

Halloween Family Party

Two pounds gets a member through the door tonight, four pounds gets in anyone else, and children come free of the usual Halloween queue because this one is indoors. Harborne Village Social Club holds its Halloween Family Party on Saturday 31 October from 7pm till late, on Serpentine Road off Harborne High Street, with costumes expected and every child accompanied by an adult.

  • Date: Saturday 31 October 2026, Halloween night itself
  • Time: 7pm till late, no finishing time given
  • Venue: Harborne Village Social Club, 3 Serpentine Road, Harborne, Birmingham B17 9RD
  • Entry: £2 members, £4 non-members, paid at the door
  • Rule: Children must be with an adult at all times
  • Contact: 0121 426 6344

The Facebook header reads “12 PM PDT”, and with the clocks gone back last weekend that is 7pm in Birmingham, so the two times agree for once. The party starts at 7pm. What the poster does not say is when it ends, what children pay, or what is on inside, and the club’s number above is the place to ask before setting out with a pushchair.

A Club Bar Is Running It, Not A Promoter

Harborne Village Social Club is a members’ club with a licensed bar and a function room, and the event is its own, listed on its own Facebook page. The poster promises a Halloween theme and a family night, and an outside listing describes it as a costume party with fancy dress encouraged, though the club itself stops short of saying dress-up is required. A member turning up in a coat will get in. A child turning up without a parent will not.

What A Family Pays On The Door

Children’s prices are not printed, so the sums below assume a child pays the adult rate until the club says otherwise.

  • Member parent with two children: £2 plus £4 plus £4, £10 at most, less if the club waives the children
  • Non-member parent with two children: £4 three times, £12 at most
  • Two non-member adults, no children: £8
  • Membership itself pays back in two visits at this price difference, for anyone local who uses the club

Drinks are at club bar prices, which in Harborne means a good deal under the High Street pubs five minutes away.

Getting There Without A Car

  • From the city centre, the 23 and 24 buses stop on Harborne High Street
  • From Bearwood, the 11A or the 48
  • From Selly Oak, the 11C
  • Drivers can use the club’s own car park, open to members and guests

The 11A and 11C are the two halves of Birmingham’s Outer Circle, the 26-mile loop that has run round the city since 1926, so a family from Erdington or Kings Heath can reach Harborne without changing. Serpentine Road is a short turn off the High Street, and Harborne is one of the few Birmingham suburbs where the Halloween trick-or-treat round still runs door to door, so the walk from the bus will be in costume company.

What The Poster Leaves Out

The club has not said if there is a DJ, games, a costume prize or food, and it has not said if the night needs booking. At £2 and £4 on the door, booking is unlikely, and a club function room on Halloween with the bar open will fill on its own. The email for the club secretary is [email protected] for anyone wanting the details in writing.

Harborne Village Social Club is a private members’ club, so the £4 non-member price is a guest rate and the committee can refuse entry on the night as any club can. Nothing about the party is run by Birmingham City Council or any outside organiser.
