Judge Jules Brings Ibiza Classics to Bristol’s Lakota on Saturday, and the Doors Shut at 6pm
Judge Jules is playing Lakota in Bristol this Saturday, 7 November, but it’s an afternoon party, so anyone who turns up at the usual Saturday night hour will find it already over. Ibiza Classics runs from 4pm to 9pm, and last entry is at 6pm, according to Lakota’s event page, which sells it as a daytime session of house, trance and dance tracks from the golden years of the White Isle, with the promise of “No regrets. No hangovers. No nonsense.”
Jules, the former BBC Radio 1 presenter whose real name is Julius O’Riordan, is the headliner. Resident Advisor’s listing also names Tim Lyall, who is billed with the Slinky brand, and Lakota mentions further support DJs without saying who they are. No set times have been published, so if you’re going mainly for Jules, there’s no telling yet whether he’ll be on at 5pm or closing the party.
The Afternoon Is Aimed at Over 30s
Lakota lists it as a 30+ event, with friends aged 25 and over welcome. If you look under 25, the club’s rules ask you to bring physical photo ID, which means a passport, a driving licence or an approved proof of age card, and a photo of your ID on your phone won’t be accepted, and nor will a printout.
Tickets Cost Around £22 Once the Fee Is Added
Lakota sends buyers to DICE for tickets, while Fatsoma lists a final release ticket at £20 plus a £2 booking fee. Tickets can’t be refunded or exchanged if the event goes ahead as planned, the venue’s rules say, so if your plans change, Lakota suggests passing yours on through a trusted resale site.
Lasers, Confetti and CO₂ Cannons Are on the Bill
The venue is promising a huge sound system, lasers, confetti and CO₂ cannons, and the promotional poster adds a giant video wall. Leave a few things at home, though. Lakota’s door staff remove food and drink, chewing gum, glass items like perfume bottles, eye drops, nasal sprays and any medication that isn’t in its original packaging, and they won’t hold any of it for you to collect later.
Montpelier Station Is a 10 Minute Walk Away
Lakota is at 6 Upper York Street in Stokes Croft, BS2 8QN, and its travel page gives these options:
- From Bristol Temple Meads it’s about a 20 minute walk, or you can take the number 8 or 9 bus to Haymarket and walk five minutes from there.
- Trains to Montpelier leave you about 10 minutes away on foot.
- The 73, 75 and 76 buses stop on Stokes Croft, and the 24 and 25 stop at City Road, just around the corner.
- Taxis use a pick up point at what3words ///clubs.cubes.waddle, and the venue recommends booking a licensed cab in advance.
The ground floor bar and main room have step free access through a separate street entrance, but Moon Club and the upstairs rooms are reached by stairs only, and anyone who needs a PA or carer ticket should email [email protected] before Saturday.

Aim to be through the door by 5pm. That gives you an hour’s margin on the 6pm cut off, and since the set times are a mystery, it’s the only way to be sure you don’t miss Jules.
